Where to Eat in Dearborn County

What are you hungry for? Good old American food or something more exotic? Do you like to try new places or do you prefer to stick to the tried-and-true? You can pretty much do any or all of the above in Dearborn County.

For American Food, try the Aurora Country Kitchen, located in Aurora, one of the cities in Dearborn County. Or, if you like Mexican food, try the Acapulco Mexican Restaurant, with locations in Lawrenceburg, Aurora, and Rising Sun.

Hungry for pizza? Try Angilo’s or Buzzy’s NYPD pizza restaurants in Lawrenceburg, or Larosa’s Pizzeria in neighboring Greendale. If you want to order a pizza to eat in your hotel room, Papa John’s is waiting for your call.

Do you like Mediterranean and Vegetarian food, served in a location that also has a wine bar? Then 3rd and Main (that’s the restaurant, not the location) in Aurora is the one you want. Or enjoy international and American cuisine, including seafood at Applewood by the River in Aurora.

Several chain restaurants, such as Bob Evans, Golden Corral, and Steak ‘N Shake is also located in Lawrenceburg and nearby cities. You can also choose from your favorite fast-food restaurants, such as McDonald’s and Burger King.

Much of Dearborn County is located on the Ohio River, and there are several restaurants that not only offer good food but a beautiful view of the river itself. These include the Riverwatch Restaurant and others in Aurora.

If you like Oriental food, you can eat at China Wok, the Grand China, or the Dragon Restaurant. These are located either right in Dearborn County, or just over the State line in Kentucky or Ohio.

The Argosy Casino and Hotel property has six restaurants to choose from. You are only steps away from any of them when you stay and play at that location.

Where To Stay In Dearborn County

When you visit Dearborn County, Indiana, you will have your choice of a number of places to stay. These include several chain hotels, such as the Holiday Inn Express, which has locations both in Dearborn County as well as Cincinnati, OH (remember, you are just 27 miles away), and the Quality Inn Casinos.

Both hotels listed, as well as others, are near many of the attractions in and around Dearborn County. These include museums as well as the Perfect North Slopes, which offer winter skiing opportunities, as well as some casinos.

These hotels, like others in their category, are family-friendly. They have amenities such as indoor swimming pools and fitness centers, and some of them are completely non-smoking facilities. Others have designated smoking and non-smoking rooms. There are also a number of bed and breakfast establishments located in and around Dearborn County. Lawrenceburg, which is the County Seat, has two—Greenbrier and Tuggle’s Folly.

There are at least seven other bed and breakfast establishments within ten miles of Lawrenceburg. Some of them are in the State of Indiana; others are located either in Kentucky or Ohio. Remember, you are very close to both Dayton and Cincinnati in Ohio, and Louisville and Lexington, in Kentucky, are only about an hour to an hour and a half away.

If you like to gamble, try the Argosy Casino and Hotel. This hotel is located on property that includes a dock side riverboat casino. Gambling cruises leave every two hours, so you can choose the time when you would like to leave your hotel room to try your luck at the slot machines and table games. When you return, there are six restaurants, also on casino property, from which to choose for your dining experience.
